Production Notes: The Cinsault fraction of this rosé represents the first harvest from the newly planted Cinsault block at Angiolina Farm in the Yakima Valley. The fruit was lightly foot-tread and left to macerate on the skins for 4 hours before pressing. A small fraction of juice from the 2024 RKP Grenache, which was just beginning an uninoculated ferment, was used to initiate fermentation. At 1/3 brix depletion, the lot was inoculated with Zymaflore X16 yeast and barreled down to neutral oak barrels where it remained on its lees until bottling. No malolactic fermentation.

Winemaker’s Notes: The goal with this wine was to craft a rosé that delivers flavor, textural, and visual complexity in a refreshingly low alcohol package. To achieve this, the wine was inoculated with a small fraction of actively fermenting Grenache juice, fermented and aged in barrel on lees, with no malolactic fermentation. The result is a delightfully crisp rosé characterized by vibrant acidity, citrusy notes of grapefruit and lime zest, and a textural weight that belies the wine’s 11% alcohol status.
